1a . The Directors may refuse any entry for reason of conduct, ethics, or a record of failing to play and complete their matches in other tournaments, leagues or previous ZCS’s.                                Cheating is considered to be unethical conduct. Any playing nickname whose rating is reset between now and the conclusion of this ZCS will be disqualified from this ZCS/ZCSQ.

1b. Entrants providing incomplete or false information with their entry may also have their entry declined.

1c The Host may refuse any entry because of disruptive conduct in any other tournament.

2a. Only one entry per player. Entering under multiple nicks is prohibited. The sole exception is that a player who has more than one nick which s/he wishes to be considered for qualifying under, must list them on the entry form.

2b. Entrants must supply full names and the telephone number (s) of the location (s) where they will primarily be playing from. These details will be kept by the Host and shared only with the Directors in the event it is necessary in order to resolve an issue under this or any other rule. If requested a player must make themselves available to take a phone call from the Host or a Director during and/or immediately after a match.

3. Players schedule and complete their matches within the allotted time. Players may agree to stop game play and restore/continue their match at a later date, within the allotted time.

4. If a match cannot be scheduled despite good faith effort or should an opponent not respond, then the player must notify the Host. These issues must be made known at least 24 hours prior to the end of a round. The Host will make a determination of good faith effort and award the “win”.

5. Players are responsible for keeping records of all scheduling attempts.

6. Doubling is allowed, however the auto-double feature must be set to OFF.

7. Kibitzing must be left ON. Either player may silence watchers.

8. A player is considered to be disconnected (booted) when s/he is unable to continue game play. Players must restore the match upon return. If a player disconnects and cannot continue, the players must reschedule and restore the match as soon as possible. There are no boot limits.

9. Match results must be posted within 24 hours of match completion.

10. Disputes between players must be directed to the Host for resolution.

11. Players may not receive outside assistance, either bot or human during a match.

12. During a match players’ ZM must be off or on DND.

13. All matches will be played in the Doubling Cube room.

14. Matches may be Snowied and published. Players agree to this by entering. Players must remain at the board at the conclusion of their match long enough for the dice-log to be captured.

15. Any entrant wishing to dispute a Host ruling may do so by directing the issue to the Tournament Directors, whose decision is final. Where appropriate the Directors will appoint others to adjudicate on appeals in their place.

16a. A high standard of ethical behavior and sportsmanship is expected. Any lapse risks disciplinary action from the Host that may include, but is not limited to, forfeiting points, forfeiting matches, or disqualification.

16b Failure to complete your allocated matches without good cause may be considered unsporting and could affect eligibility for future ZCS/ZCSQ tourneys.

17. Any player that will be unable to respond to match scheduling emails for more than 3 consecutive days must where possible report this fact to the Host in advance.

18. Players are strongly discouraged from leaving the scheduling of matches to late in the time period allocated for the round. The Host will take this into account when applying Rule 4.

19. Any Round 1 player who has not played any matches within 7 days of the
start of the round may be substituted , unless they have notified the Host of sufficient cause.

20. Replacements of other withdrawing players. In the event of a withdrawal after the ZCSQ or ZCS has started the Host has the discretion to substitute the withdrawing player. Should the Host decide to substitute, that opportunity will be offered to the next best performing available player from the same bracket as the withdrawing player.
IN ADDITION TO: In this case all wins or loses of the withdrawing player will be voided
and the replacing player will start with a clean slate. If the withdrawn player is not replaced and has completed fewer than half of his/her bracket matches then all opponents will be awarded an  un played win (0.7 points) irrespective of whether they have already played the withdrawing player. If the withdrawn player is not replaced and has completed at least half of his/her matches then the results of completed matches will stand, and all of his/her uncompleted matches will result in un played wins to his/her opponents.

21. Notwithstanding any of the above the Directors may amend or add to these rules should in their view circumstances make it necessary in order to best achieve the purpose of the ZCS or ZCSQ.
